* if you have a scheduling conflict that arises, contact another student on the roster to see if they are able to switch
* if you don't feel well but would still like a lesson, we can do a Zoom lesson * please give me 24 hours notice if you can so I can fill your spot Payment* payment is due at the beginning of the month
* use Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Check or Cash * payments not received by the 10th of the month puts me in the uncomfortable position of having to ask for it Etiquette* arrive 5 minutes early, prepare your instrument and note books/books
* parent or guardian must attend lesson and take notes * bring a smart phone/video camera for practice videos * please leave the studio if you need to call or text * siblings are welcome if they can stay quiet and busy - not on a phone or tablet * keep lessons notes organized in a 3 ring binder * remove your shoes |

* if you decide to stop lessons for whatever reason, call me so we can discuss an exit strategy, I like to have at least 2 meetings after you decide, to wrap things up |
* find, set and protect a time for daily practice at home
* determine a good neat & clean space in your home where practicing will be * do not expect the child - until middle school - to know what to practice * take notes and write down a few reminders mentioned in the lesson * bring a dedicated composition book to lessons for note taking in addition to the 3 ring binder for practice charts * despite elation over a new instrument, be prepared for pushback * prepare yourself for this feeling and make the decision to ride the waves of discomfort and adjustment for a certain length of time (I recommend two years) or until solid technique is established and students can play |
