I find balance and fulfillment from working in both the musical arts and in education.
I am a teaching artist, teaching music classes to children and adults. I hold song writing workshops for teens, lyric writing workshops for adults, group fiddle classes for children and adults, Suzuki group and individual classes, harmony singing classes for adults, and others types of workshops.
I live in Los Angeles, but I also teach remotely via Zoom. Contact me to schedule an introductory class or workshop.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every child can play an instrument at a high level and that this can be a positive life experience for the whole family.
My goal is to help my students gain skills in music, but also in life, cultivating a sense of joy and balance that will accompany them into adulthood.
I enjoy being a part of the beautiful relationship between parent, child, and teacher. Through daily listening, daily practice with a parent, and weekly lessons, I strive to work together with students and parents, instilling a love of music and learning. I know that when all the integral parts of the Suzuki philosophy are in place, excellence is achievable.
For my songwriting students, my goals are similar but I add the following:
I want my students to develop healthy writing habits so they can always discover new song ideas. I want them to develop body awareness to eliminate performance anxiety to perform with ease and really connect to their community members. Also I want them to understand chord progressions so that songwriting becomes an intuitive process. I find that best results come from working within a group songwriting community.
